Tips for beginners

Water

It is important to bring some water. We will encourage you to drink during the party in order to stay hydrated and not get too hot.

Go at your own pace

If you start to feel tired, take out the arm movements or jumps, or take it down to a simple march. You can work it back up again when you have your breath back. Just keep moving!

Do I have to know how to dance like Shakira?

No, definately not. Zumba is about having fun and moving, and there is no best dancer. Nobody cared who's going left and who's going right, as long as you're smiling and having fun.

What do wear

There is no right or wrong in what to wear to Zumba as long as you are comfortable, can move and feel good.
Shoes, however, are important: please wear comfortable, supporting shoes. Dance aerobic trainers are a good option, but running shoes are not as they limit your sideways motion and lack support.

If you have any health issues that you feel would be aggrevated or affected by vigurous excercise, please speak to your teacher or door staff.
